Summary of the Glorious Revolution

Basicly The glorious Revolution is a period where people started relieing on science and pushing away religion. That lead to many things like, political battels in England between Catholics and Protestants. The two argued about divine rights of the political rights of parliament and crown.King Jame got over thrown so that was the end of absolute power. The Bill of Rights became popular and one of the most important documents in the political history of Britain.King James was over threw and there was no more absolute power.
I think the reason why The Glorious Revolution was so important cause Kings James was over threw. That was the 1st time where people could relate to the U.S and use the bill of rights.I think that following one person rules is crazy and torture.I think people was more happy after useing the bill of rights too cause it stoped any possibilty of catholic monarchy. And back then Catholics were denied right to vote. But this is mainly what happend and this is why its so important.

The Renaissance

I am told to write about what stuck out to me the most. And the thing that stuck out to me the most in The Renaissance is when the question they asked was "How would yo feel if you survived a 1out of 3 people death time period?"It was in the 1st paragraph where i read that. And if i survived that i would feel so blessed like i was one of gods chosen one. I would not take one day for granted and i would cherish life forever. This makes me think of how short peoples life is becauze any thing like that can happen again.I would have kids and live life to the fullest.

Final essay on The secret Life of Bees

4/7/08
In the Secret life of Bees the writer Sue Monk Kidd, is not only writing about one girl she is writing about every girl with hopes, dreams and want for a better life. I think that’s something every girl in America wants. Even if their rich and have every thing they could ever dream about, nothing is never enough. And the reason why I just target women with that is because men are really not as caring as women. It bothers a girl more to see someone get hurt more than it bothers a man. Women are more sensitive and because of that we want life to be beyond the earth. Women hate the wars, the homeless, and the sick. And they want to go to a better place than this. I am sure men hate this thing too but they deal with it better.
When Lily (the youngest women in the story that’s been tortured by her father.)
And Rosaleen (the stand in mother of Lily) decided to move on with there life. They need the most help of all; they got more help from the women. They caught a half way ride with a black men going there way. The strongest black women were the people that gave them a place to stay.

I know you probably wondering what do this got to do with this book because it say nothing like that in there. But when I first read this book and Lily and Rosaleen sprung free they started look for a better life. They got to Tiburon, South Carolina and they found one. That gives me hope that maybe everyone can find that life they looking for. Sue Monk Kidd probably didn’t mean to portray this message of hope for a better life. But this is they way that I felt when I read it. Its was probably meant to be a entertaining book about a young girls life. And yet it was more than that. It was inspiration for every to stand stronger and to not have to depend on a man. Cause back in 1964 was a time where women still didn’t have the right to everything a man had. A woman was not such entrepreneurs. It made it possible to believe in a better place than where you live at, by allowing Lily to live a better life.

This book also talks about small elements of life that are looked over every day.100 bees work 5 hours a day for one drop of honey. That being said I consider honey as a blessing. And I’ am sure that every women in this book consider it a blessing to. We swallow a spoonful in the morning to wake us up and one at night to put us to sleep. Honey was the ambrosia of the gods and the shampoo of the goddesses (84). In the book you find Sue Monk Kidd comparing Bees to humans a lot. From what I read they are just like us. Its amazing that something so small can have the same feeling as some thing so big. The whole fabric of the honey bee society depends on communication on an innate ability to send and receive messages, to encode and decode information (The honey bee). Doesn’t that sound just like any other human community? If Humans couldn’t communicate then we would be no where Most important things take team work and team work takes communication. If I had to make a house all by myself it would take forever.
In this book she shows that that every little thing matters and every thing got feelings. She is a kind and caring person. This book shows hope and consideration. It has change the way I look at life. Most books can’t change a life. This is why it is so important. And should be studied by everyone.

Mentor meeting 4/1/08

On Tuesday April 1 I meet with this very cool man named Ms.Smith. I talk with him about my project on human evolution. We talk about what we could do for a project and he said that most of evolution projects cause long periods of time. The product that he suggested i do was a survey on what my peers think cause it would be impossible to make in experiment under a six month project dealing with evolution. He told me to ask my teacher what he would think of that being a project and to get back with him so he can help me with some of the questions.I ask him how he got into studying humans and he said that his dad use to be a scientist and his mom was a doctor so it just ran though the family.
He said while he was in college he had to do a class on the smallest organism. And when he went out into the field to find new insect that was really interesting and just been studying them ever since. He been studying insect for 10 years or more.He taut me alot about how insect evolved over time. How ant than got smaller and butterflies wings than gotten more colorful over the last 10 years he been studying them. He showed me how something that's looks kind of like a calliper turned into a beatel. That was so cool cause when he showed me it ,it didn't look nothing like a beatel. He show me some of the worlds biggest insect and turtles that were bigger than humans.I also learn that insect can be smaller than bacteria.Moths wings then gotten bigger too.Ants color than changed too and they have gotten smarter.Ants use to stay in the grass and where people can also ways walk but now they make they own hills so if you wlak by them you know that your wlaking by an ant hill. They hills are made big so that you notice.
We compared humans to insect alot and found alot of thing in common.Things like baby ant that are first born they cant leave from each other till the mother say so.Or that Beatles that live in the woods around each other have to meet at a certain time. The thing that really got me was when he started talking about all the insect that cry.And how Scorpios and most bugs fight for girls that was so funny to hear cause thats is what most boys fight over in todays time.He gotten so deep as till when they eat and do they eat together. It crazy but they do they eat togther unless they are just to hungry to wait.He tells me about how Scorpios always are looking for food and are never satisfied thats sounds alot like humans.Beatles and other insects are harmless unless you make yourself seem like a treat. And how most insect feel that they are so small that they don't feel like peoples can see them so i guess thats why when you walk pass a roach they stay still till they recognize you are going to kill them then they stare running.
